Compatibility policy · v1.0

Compatibility is a verified contract, not a marketing assumption.

Public version 1 supports the built-in simulator, endpoints that implement the original Generic Link v1 specification, and closed declarative TCP integration profiles created or imported by the user. It does not claim direct compatibility with any named third-party processor.

Capability-driven interface

The endpoint declares supported semantic features, counts, limits, output formats, sync sources and test patterns during the handshake. The app shows only those controls and validates every command against the live snapshot.

User-defined profiles

A reusable integration profile may define bounded TCP framing, compiled checksums, typed reads, canonical state mappings and the app’s fixed semantic commands. The processor record separately supplies the one local endpoint. Profiles cannot execute code, download modules, open a secondary destination or contain credentials. The user is responsible for using only protocols they are authorized to use.

Future adapters

A model-specific adapter can be distributed only after documented protocol rights, a compatible license, required trademark permissions, technical review, physical bench validation, firmware scoping, Apple-facing evidence and final distribution clearance. Internal experiments are not silently embedded in the public target.

No universal claim

“LED Processor Control” describes the product category. It does not mean every LED processor can connect. An endpoint must implement Generic Link or the operator must supply a valid closed integration profile for a protocol they are entitled to use. A developer-supplied branded profile still requires separate legal, technical, bench and distribution clearance.
